Zusammenfassung:The objective of this study was to determine the biodegradation and growth kinetics of aromatic compounds. This data can be used in groundwater modelling and designing biological remediation systems. Bacterial strains capable of utilizing benzene, toluene, and para-xylene as sole sources of carbon were isolated by standard enrichment culturing techniques. The initial inoculum for the enrichment cultures was aged gasoline contaminated soil.
