Syringonomus dactylatus , a new species of bathyal marine nematode (Enoplida: Leptosomatidae) and a supplement description of Syringonomus typicus Hope and Murphy, 1969

The taxonomic history of the genus Syringonomus is reviewed, and the genus is redefined. A supplementary description of the males of Syringonomus typicus is given, and Syringonomus dactylatus is described. The structure of the amphidial flap of the males is compared and contrasted between both species of Syringonomus , and between species of Syringonomus, Platycoma and Proplatycoma . The geographic distribution and ecology of Syringonomus is discussed and compared with that of Platycoma and Proplatycoma .
