Zusammenfassung:The levels of organochlorine pesticides were determined in the major varieties of edible oils and oil seeds produced in India. Following purification by extraction, the concentrations of HCH, DDT, DDE, Aldrin, Endrin and Endosulfan were measured in groundnut, sesame, mustard, coconut, and vegetable oils using a gas chromatographic procedure. In general, low levels of pesticides were found with concentrations ranging from 42000 to 2 ppb.
