Zusammenfassung:This preliminary study investigates the possible use of a cable contactor for the sterilization of micro-organisms suspensions in water by ultra-violet radiation. The influence of some of the most important operating parameters has been analysed and kinetic model of UV disinfection in the "AMAZONE" contactor is proposed. The technical feasibility of the process is seemingly demonstrated.
