Zusammenfassung:The effects of buspirone hydrochloride were investigated in the formation of cold-immobilization gastric stress ulcers. Low doses significantly attenuated, while higher doses greatly potentiated gastric stress pathology. The dopamine antagonist haloperidol, and the agonist apomorphine respectively, reversed the buspirone effects. The role of dopamine in the expression of buspirone's effects is discussed, although other transmitter systems may mediate some of the actions of buspirone.
