The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award is an initiative of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Other winners include the projects Art Reach by the Provincetown Art Association and Museum; Boston Children's Chorus; CEPA's Community-Based Youth Education Program in Buffalo; Storycatchers Theatre's Programs for Detained and Incarcerated Youth in Chicago; Ifetayo Youth Ensemble in Brooklyn; Investigating Where We Live by the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.; OrchKids: Planting Seeds for a Bright Future by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; Project AIM by Creative Kids in El Paso; WriteGirl by Community Partners in Los Angeles; and the international recipient, Kuruka Maisha Foundation in Nairobi, Kenya.
