The ISPA experience: the 2013 Edition

On the opening day of the conference in Porto, not having received any notification of the location of the Leadership Workshop (a forum bringing together current and past leaders and representatives of national affiliate organizations), I master the Metro system and find my way from my hotel to the conference site. By the end, they all know they could run a great conference and are clear about things they would do differently if they ever did it again-but, with very few exceptions, they never want to do it again! Because the nicest people in the whole world, quite literally, attend, and because you see places that you might otherwise never get to. [...]right when I think I am ready to hang up my ISPA shoes, I get sucked back into discussions about how can we support the scholarship fund to build in more opportunities for people who could not otherwise afford to leave their homes to come to a conference where the windows on the world of school psychology are thrown wide open.
