Zusammenfassung:Ten chemicals were tested for their ability to control an outbreak of Zoothamnium sp. on larval Macrobrachium acanthurus. Larvae were exposed for 24 h to various concentrations of each chemical. Copper sulfate, Dylox ®, methylene blue, Terramycin ®, Combiotic ®, potassium permanganate, Roccal ®, nitrofurazone, and malachite green showed little control of Zoothamnium sp. or were toxic to larvae. Formalin at 50 ppm gave complete control of Zoothamnium sp. and had no ill effects on the larvae.
