Zusammenfassung:Lactobacilli are ubiquitous, generally nonpathogenic, gram-positive bacteria, that are normal flora of the mouth, gastrointestinal tract, and the vagina. Occasionally, Lactobacilli have been reported to cause endocarditis, sepsis from localized suppuration of intestinal origin, neonatal meningitis, and chorioamniotitis. The authors report a case of Lactobacillus plantarum septicemia.
