Zusammenfassung:Highlights ► Kinematics of infants were recorded at the age of 3 months. ► We investigated the meaning of stereotyped movements in infant motor development. ► At the age of 24 months 10 infants had developed cerebral palsy (CP), 56 had not. ► The presence of self-similar movements of the upper limb correlated with CP. ► Our quantitative score identified CP cases with 90% sensitivity and 96% specificity.
