Zusammenfassung:The concentration level of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and dibenzofurans (PCDF) was determined in the blubber from 7 Arctic ringed seals caught outside the west coast of Spitzbergen. Other polychlorinated compounds (pesticides etc.) were also analysed. Surprisingly high amounts of PCDD/PCDF were found compared with seals from other locations closer to known source areas. A detailed description of the employed analytical methods is given.
