Zusammenfassung:Four captive sandhill cranes (Grus canadensis) consistently chose soft durum wheat over hard spring wheat or barley whether the grains were threshed or unthreshed. When cranes ate unthreshed grain, rate of grain consumption was higher (P < 0.01) for durum wheat than either hard spring wheat or barley, which did not differ.
