Cross- and self-adaptation of electroantennogram responses in the lightbrown apple moth ( Epiphyas postvittana)

Zusammenfassung:Self- and cross-adaptation measurements were carried out with five different 14-carbon acetates including the major component of the pheromone blend. Each compound was found to produce a characteristic degree of adaptation in the antenna, requiring only one exposure for almost complete expression. Disadaptation time was approx 6 min but there is evidence for a separate adaptation phenomenon when multiple stimuli are delivered at a rate greater than 1 per minute.
