Zusammenfassung: | The authors analyzed the fungal spore content of fecal pellets collected from western red-backed voles (Clethrionomys californicus ) live-trapped between 1981 November and 1982 November in the foothills of the Cascade range of southwestern Oregon. Nineteen fungal genera were identified, 17 of which were hypogeous mycobionts. Rhizopogon was the most frequently occurring genus. Western red-backed voles apparently are hypogeous fungal generalists, foraging on sporocarps in direct relation to their availability. |
