Zusammenfassung:Ambiental dust speciation and metal content variation in total suspended particle (TSP), particle with aerodynamic diameter of 10 mu m (PM sub(10)) and particles with aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 mu m (PM sub(2.5)) or less in urban atmospheric air of Harare of Zimbabwe are examined. The City of Harare needs to come up with standardized methods for measuring TSP, PM sub(10) and PM sub(2.5) as well as metals in these particle-sized fractions. Results obtained show average levels of TSP, PM sub(10) and PM sub(2.5) of 106.11, 59.70 and 40.55 mu g m super(-3) respectively. Levels of heavy metals in TSP, PM sub(10) and PM sub(2.5) are found to correlate well with particle size. Fine particles are found to contain higher levels of metals than coarse particulates.
