Zusammenfassung: | Removal of chromate in trace concentration using ion exchange from tannery wastewater is examined. The study shows that removal of Chromate by ion exchange depends on the diffusion controlled reaction and pysico-chemical characteristics of the resin. The resin operates best over wide range of trace Chromate concentrations at constant value of 4.0 pH. The rapid uptake of Chromate in the background of high concentrations of co-ions and non interference of the co-ions on the Chromate uptake indicates the selectivity of the resin toward Chromate. Primary and secondary treatments of the wastewater, the trace concentration of chromate remaining treated using Ion exchange resin in batch reactor the results reveal that the method can remove chromate in tannery wastewater to near to complete removal. |
