Zusammenfassung: | Presence of titanium (Ti) in ombrotrophic Sphagnum mosses from various peat bogs of Germany and Belgium was detected. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Kolmogorov-Smirnov two-sample test were used to test for the differences in Ti concentrations and Ti inventory of the species within the investigated peat bogs, of the microhabitats within a peat bog and of the plant segments within a peat bog. The results indicated that the segment of the living green Sphagnum material had higher values than the capitulum segment but, distinctly lower values than the segment of dead brown Sphagnum material. It was indicated that the higher Ti concentrations and inventories of the summer months might be explained by a higher dust deposition at that time. |
