Zusammenfassung: | Thermolysis product distribution of solid waste obtained from olive oil production was studied. The pyrolysis and direct combustion processes were carried out at 300, 400, 600, and 800 degree C under nitrogen and air flows of 150 mL/min, respectively. The overall compound distribution of pyrolysis of olive pomace in the Bayer/ICI/Shell (BIS) furnace between 400 to 800 degree C involved mainly benzene derived aromatic hydrocarbons including oxygenated compounds. The main oxygenated compounds determined were phenol and its methoxy derivatives, benzaldehyde and its alkylated hydroxy derivatives, vanillin, eugenol, and vanillic acid. The distributions of the compound type in the products obtained from combustion process in the BIS furnace showed similarities at each temperature. |
