Zusammenfassung:The influence of land use on the urban heat island in Singapore was examined. The main tools for analysis were remote sensing data and geographic information system (GIS) to obtain a macro view of Singapore and carry out comprehensive analysis at the same time. Quantitative analysis results revealed that during daytime, the industrial area exhibited a higher surface temperature than commercial and business areas, and park area had the lowest surface temperature. The analysis results also reflected that in daytime, human structure area had much higher surface temperature than vegetation area, while the raise of ambient temperature was minor at night. It was concluded that both the qualitative and quantitative analysis results showed that the land usage would influence urban temperatures.
