The Restoration of El Partido Stream Watershed (Donana Natural Park) a Multiscale, Interdisciplinary Approach

Various aspects related to the restoration of El Partido stream watershed using a multiscale interdisciplinary approach, were studied. The environmental problems posed by the functioning of the stream, the technical solutions that were put forward, and the ecological restoration of the area, were presented. One of the requirements to be met in El Partido restoration was to provide the right habitat for Iberian lynx and Imperial eagle, the most menaced vertebrates in the park. The ecological restoration of El Partido stream watershed was an attempt to restate hydrological and ecological functions in a degraded agricultural area by bringing it to a level where integration into Donana National Park becomes feasible. Objectives would be achieved through regulatory actions capable of reorienting natural processes in the future.
