Zusammenfassung:	Statistical data obtained on the mechanical strength of the glass from tests performed on glass samples treated by different methods are examined. It is shown that the deposition of a metalized film on glass decreases glass strength and virtually no further strength degradation occurs when the film is removed by means of laser radiation.
