Zusammenfassung: | Frog embryos were exposed to various concentrations of the agricultural fungicides triadimefon (FON) and triadimenol (NOL) to determine the effects on branchial development. Exposures took place at the blastula and nerula stages. Those in the nerula stage showed abnormalities in the region of the branchial arches. The results indicated that triazole fungicides may act by altering endogenous retinoic acid. This acid is known to cause craniofacial defects in mammals. |
