Zusammenfassung: | An assessment of the status of thin film copper indium selenide solar cells on Cu tape indicates that such devices can satisfy current market demands. The innovative reel-to-reel technology developed to manufacture quasi-endless tapes of solar cells is explained. The postulated p-i-n structure of the cell, with CuI as the buffer layer, appears optimal for high efficiencies. Available cells can reach an efficiency of about 9% and efficiencies of test modules can approach 9%. |
