On "Ghost Buildings"

Ghost Buildings Exhibition, dedicated to everyone with an urban consciousness, asserts that looking towards the past with different approaches can actually be regarded as being synonymous with looking at the future. The academic works exhibited were based on archival research "following the footsteps of the past" without falling into the trap of nostalgia.. The project, including the exhibition and its catalogue is supported by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, and it opens the destructions and reconstructions in the city to discussion through 12 selected buildings, which either doesn't exist anymore, or are desolate and located at different historical areas of Istanbul with diverse destruction experiences.
