Development of the Social Housing (Lodging) Model in the Presentation of Dwelling in Turkey

Social housing (lodging) is one of the most common solutions to the dwelling problem of people, who work in public institutions, all around the world. The authors assess the development of social housing models in Turkey, through the legal arrangements, the economic and political decisions that were taken by the state, starting from the early years of the Republic. They analyses the social housing models that show a parallel change with the political tendencies of the country in three phases, namely the periods between 1923-1960, 1960-1980 and the period after the 1980s.
