Presents an analysis of a survey of 314 jewellery production companies in Istanbul, Turkey, in order to analyse the spatial pattern of networks of Istanbul jewellery clusters. The paper examines firstly whether the spatial pattern of networks, from local to international, differs according to type of linkage, and secondly, whether spatial proximity can be redefined in the context of clusters.
