Extractive fermentation--integrated reaction and product recovery

Refinements have been made to a prototype process for the production of ethanol by extractive fermentation. Data are provided to show the efficacy and stability of the process under various operating conditions, and the near complete ( > 96%) continuous conversion of a 300 g/L glucose feed.
