Zusammenfassung: | Headspace gas chromatography was utilized in determining residual styrene in Chilean foods packaged in polystyrene. Residual styrene monomer levels found in samples of dairy products, fresh meats, honey, and desserts are reported. No clear relationship was observed between the styrene monomer content of the containers and the amount found in foodstuff samples. No progressive increase in the amount of styrene in foods was detected with increasing packaging time. |
