Zusammenfassung: | Fifteen first-year Indiana cornfields were sampled in 1984 for the presence of wireworms. There were 10 species found with Limonius dubitans being the most abundant species in corn following soybean fields, and Aeolus mellillus the most abundant species in corn following sod fields. More elaterid larvae were found in corn following soybeans than following other crops. Because of variation in the presence of other soil inhabiting insects, the direct impact of wireworms on corn could not be determined in field tests. |
