Zusammenfassung: | The consequences of the long-range transport of highway-related emissions are discussed. Three areas are addressed (1) the direct deposition of nitrogen compounds in precipitation, (2) the influence of emissions from motor vehicles on the wet deposition of sulphate and (3) their role in the formation of regional episodes of high ozone. Though there are many unknowns, much can be gained by establishing the value of key time-scales in each problem. |
