Zusammenfassung: | The homeostatic control of blood pressure involves a complex interplay between neuronal and endocrine systems.
David Story and
J. Ziogas discuss the interaction of the renin-angiotensin system with noradrenergic neuroeffector transmission. Recent studies on the renin-angiotensin system have been extended to the point where it is clear that a variety of tissues including the heart and blood vessels have the capacity to generate angiotensin II. The authors also discuss the consequences of locally generated angiotensin II to noradrenergic transmission and its implications for blood pressure control. |
