Polymethylene derivatives of nucleic bases bearing Delta w-functional groups. VIII. Delta w-Oxo- Delta w-phenylalkylpyrimidines and -purines

Novel polymethylene derivatives of nucleic bases containing a phenylketo functional group at the Delta *w-position were synthesized by the alkylation of uracil, thymine, cytosine, hypoxanthine, adenine, and N-isobutyrylguanine with Delta *w-chloro-l-phenylalkan-1-ones and their physicochemical properties were studied.
