Renewing the Commitment

Water resources management is a prerequisite for health development in developing nations. Provision of drinking water and sanitation is a priority of the international community. Key themes in water management include the prioritization of sanitation and drinking water requirements, cooperation in the management of shared water resources, integrated management of water resources to protect natural ecosystems, strategies to reduce waterborne diseases, and mobilization of all sources of capital to address infrastructure development. New international partnerships have been developed to address these challenges.
