Poles of competitiveness, the motors of green growth

// ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Since the "poles of competitiveness" policy was launched in 2004, it has boosted innovation and helped develop genuine chains of production. For the Grenelle de l'Environnement meeting, protecting the environment is an opportunity for investments that will stimulate growth and create jobs both nationally and internationally. The government has adopted a policy of green growth with the objective of turning the environmental challenge into an opportunity of growth for French firms. Planned investments should, by 2012, stimulate 450 billion euros in business and create 600.000 jobs. The competitive poles are a major factor in this dynamics. // ABSTRACT IN FRENCH: Depuis son lancement en 2004, la politique des pôles de compétitivité contribue au renforcement de l'innovation et à la construction d'une véritable politique industrielle des filières. Le Grenelle de l'Environnement a confirmé que la protection de l'environnement est une opportunité d'investissements génératrice de croissance et d'emplois tant au niveau national qu'international. Le Gouvernement a mis en oeuvre une politique de croissance verte dont l'objectif est de faire du défi environnemental une opportunité de croissance pour les entreprises françaises. Les investissements consentis devraient générer, d'ici à 2012, une activité de plus de 450 milliards d'euros et 600,000 emplois.
