Zusammenfassung: | Cesium 134 uptake by four species from the Asteraceae and two varieties from the Chenopodiaceae grown in a paddy soil and a red soil in southern People's Republic of China is reported. Plants grown on paddy soil had a relatively high yield and low super(134)Cs concentrations; the opposite trend was observed for plants grown on red soil. Mean radiocesium values were higher for Asteraceae species than for Chenopodiaceae grown in paddy soils. Since the former accumulated higher super(134)Cs concentrations, these species are recommended as candidates for phytoremediation of Cs-contaminated soils. |
