Zusammenfassung:The Multispecies Freshwater Biomonitor registered (MFB) measures and assess online different types of aquatic species behavior based on the registration of changes in a high frequency AC, caused by organism movement in test chambers. The ability of the MFB to detect the movement of nematodes was tested, demonstrating that while single specimens could not be recorded, groups of 10 nematodes gave typical locomotive signals in different media with good precision and accuracy. The results should facilitate development of a rapid online whole-sediment toxicity test with behavior as the sensitive test parameter.
