Zusammenfassung:Avian adult infanticide (the killing of conspecific young by an adult) has been reported for several species. Here, the authors document one case of attempted infanticide and circumstantial evidence for 3 more cases of infanticide in the European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris ). These observations were made during an ongoing study of the behavioral ecology of the starling in Piscataway, New Jersey from 1983 to 1985.
