Quantitative autoradiographic localization of the D sub(1) and D sub(2) subtypes of dopamine receptors in rat brain
The distribution of D sub(1) and D sub(2) receptors was studied in coronal sections of rat brain, using quantitative autoradiography. D sub(1) receptors were labeled with super(3)H-SKF-83566 (a brominated analog of super(3)H-SCH-23390), while D sub(2) receptors were labeled with super(3)H-spiroperid...

Zusammenfassung: | The distribution of D sub(1) and D sub(2) receptors was studied in coronal sections of rat brain, using quantitative autoradiography. D sub(1) receptors were labeled with super(3)H-SKF-83566 (a brominated analog of super(3)H-SCH-23390), while D sub(2) receptors were labeled with super(3)H-spiroperidol ( super(3)H-SPD). Sections of CPu mash were used in competition studies that confirmed that the specific binding of super(3)H-SKF-83566 was selective for D sub(1) receptors, and that the binding of super(3)H-SPD was selective for D sub(2) receptors. D sub(1) receptors were found throughout the forebrain and were present in greater density than were D sub(2) receptors in all regions examined except the olfactory nerve layer. |
