Zusammenfassung:The present work was aimed to study the plant and fungal material contents of different regions of the gut and freshly laid casts of Octochaetona surensis (Michaelsen) Lampito mauritii (Kinberg) and Drawida willsi (Michaelsen), three dominant earthworms in tropical pastures of Orissa, India. Secondly the authors aimed to quantify gut load, rate of ingestion and egestion by these worms. This work forms a part of a comprehensive study on the role of tropical earthworms in decomposition of some organic wastes.
