Zusammenfassung:The biokinetic parameters of aerobic oxidation for treatment of tannery effluent were studied. These parameters describe microorganism metabolic performance of microorganisms in the digester. A high BOD removal rate (95.8%) was obtained at an optimum organic load of 0.6 kg BOD/cubic m/d, probably because cow dung was used as the seed material. Biokinetic constant values indicate that significant oxidation of organic matter occurs, as is evident from the decay coefficient. Tannery effluent is highly amenable to this aerobic treatment.
