Zusammenfassung: | Ambient-air samples were collected at two locations in Zagreb, Croatia, and organochlorine pesticide and PCB concentrations were measured. One location was residential, and the other was near a landfill. Concentrations of organochlorine pesticides and PCBs at the residential site ranged 0.5 80.0 and 1 57 pg/m super(3), respectively, while the concentrations at the landfill site ranged 3 91 and 3 92 pg/m super(3), respectively. Compound distributions were similar at the two sampling locations, with median concentrations of hexachlorobenzene, alpha -hexachlorocyclohexane, and gamma -hexachlorocyclohexane about four times higher than those of beta -hexachlorocyclohexane and total DDTs. PCB congeners 28 and 52 were highest among the PCBs at both locations. |
