Zusammenfassung:Sediment samples were collected from five important coastal lagoon systems along the southeast Gulf of Mexico, and concentrations of persistent organochlorine pollutants were measured. Measurable concentrations of hexachlorocyclohexanes heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, DDE, and DDT were found at all five locations. Highest concentrations were found for heptachlor, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, and p,p'-DDT, with concentrations in sediments of Alvarado Lagoon almost twice as high as those in the other lagoons. All concentration data are tabulated.
