Zusammenfassung:In 1998 the Minnesota Forest Resources Council carried out a comprehensive review of forest resources research. Of immediate concern were legal commitments to conduct research, organizations involved, and the amount of money being invested. Once these conditions were understood, a four-pronged research agenda was set forth. Successful implementation of the research agenda will require greater attention to planning, funding, coordination, supply of researchers, and transfer of research results to users. Minnesota's experiences with the review could be useful to other states.
