Modification of the Sex Pheromonal Communication of Trichogramma brassicae by a Sublethal Dose of Deltamethrin

The effects of a sublethal dose of deltamethrin on the arrestment behavior of Trichogramma brassicae males corresponding to the effects of the insecticide on the reception of the pheromone by males and on the emission of the pheromone by females were investigated. Results showed that male arrestment by the female pheromone was slightly albeit very significantly increased. When females were exposed to the same concentration, however, the arrestment of males by the pheromone was significantly decreased. The possible causes are discussed.
