Eating epilepsy: Phenotype, MRI, SPECT and video-EEG observations

Highlights • Substrate of 6 patients of eating epilepsy using MRI, V-EEG and SPECT were studied. • MRI: perisylvian lesions – 4, no lesions – 2 and frontal lesion – 1. • Ictal EEG: rhythmic slowing/fast activity in parieto-temporal or fronto-temporal. • SPECT: frontal ( n = 2), anterior temporal ( n...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Substrate of 6 patients of eating epilepsy using MRI, V-EEG and SPECT were studied. • MRI: perisylvian lesions – 4, no lesions – 2 and frontal lesion – 1. • Ictal EEG: rhythmic slowing/fast activity in parieto-temporal or fronto-temporal. • SPECT: frontal ( n = 2), anterior temporal ( n = 1), and parieto-insular ( n = 1) changes. • Lesions near the perisylvian region might play a major role in eating epilepsy.
