UPBuilder: An Automated Tool for Propagating Updates of Fundamental Geographic Information Database

Aiming to the pressing reality needs and the limitations of the existing GIS software, a special tool named UPBuilder is designed and realized through the component-based secondary development technology for rapidly propagating the updating and change information of fundamental geographic information database into user database. Its main functions, their execution modes and automatic processing strategies are respectively discussed. The actual experimental results on the real databases show that the developed tool can effectively organize and manage the process of updates propagation, the proposed strategies are flexible and reliable, and the implementation efficiency of updates propagation can be greatly improved by it.
