Zusammenfassung: | Over the past few years, a number of programs have been enacted to evaluate several different pyrolysis reactor designs for their suitability for applications involving waste pyrolysis. Planners at Switzerland's Ticino Canton waste treatment center have implemented MDEU's Pyropleq process for the pyrolysis of domestic wastes. This approach utilizes externally heated rotary drum type reactors. Experts estimate that within a decade, over 20% of the new plants constructed in Central Europe will operate based on pyrolysis and gasification. The advantages and drawbacks of several popular pyrolysis reactor designs are described, including fluidized bed reactors, shaft furnaces, and rotary drum type reactors. The Pyropleq process was designed to compliment other types of waste management technologies marketed by MDEU. |
