Zusammenfassung:Right-wing groups financed by industrial polluters such as Chevron, Shell, and Dow Chemical, are making a run at the National Environmental Education Act, which passed the Senate and is due to come before the House. These reformers have created a media frenzy of distrust in environmental education, spawned by Michael Sanera and Jane Shaw's book Facts Not Fear: A Parent's Guide to Teaching Children About the Environment. This manual rewrites common understandings about air quality, water quality, endangered species, population growth, and forest preservation. The corporations supporting this lobby are also stepping up their media campaigns to discredit the Act, which aims to fund an environmental grant program, and a teacher training foundation.
