Identification of a novel alternative splicing variant of hemocyanin from shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Highlights • We found for the first time a novel alternative splicing variant of hemocyanin (cHE1) in shrimp. • The isoform might be generated by retention of introns. • cHE1 transcripts showed a significant up-regulation in pathogen-treated shrimps.
