Preliminary observations on the mitotic chromosomes of Culicoides variipennis (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

The chromosome complement from somatic tissue of ulicoides variipennis was examined and found to have a chromosome number of 2n = 6. Mitotic metaphase is figured.
